PDF Desk privacy policy

Summary

PDF Desk is free and works entirely on your device. The extension makes no network requests: it doesn't upload your PDFs, form entries or signatures, and we never see them unless you choose to email us a file. There are no accounts, payments, analytics, ads or tracking, in the extension or on this website.

1. Your PDF files and their contents

This includes signatures and form entries.

  • They're opened and processed locally in your browser by code bundled in the extension.
  • They're never sent to us or anyone else.
  • They're kept in memory while you work, and saved only where you choose to save them.

2. Data saved on your device

  • PDF Desk saves only one thing in browser extension storage: the signatures you choose to save (the signature image and the name you give it).
  • Saved signatures are encrypted (AES-256) in your browser profile, with a key that stays in this browser. They aren't synced to other devices and are never transmitted.
  • You can delete one signature, or clear everything, in PDF Desk's Saved data panel. Uninstalling the extension also removes it.

3. No network access

PDF Desk has no host permissions and its content security policy only allows connections to the extension itself. It doesn't contact our servers or any third party, and it has no licence checks or sign-in.

4. Support emails

If you email us, we use your address, your message and any attachments you choose to send only to reply and investigate your request. We keep them for up to 24 months unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Email to support@gabbaworks.com is forwarded to a Gmail inbox we use for support, through Cloudflare Email Routing, so Google and Cloudflare process it as our service providers.

5. This website

gabbaworks.com uses no cookies, analytics, trackers or third-party scripts or fonts. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

What we don't do

  • We don't collect, sell or rent personal information through PDF Desk.
  • We don't use your data for advertising, profiling or credit decisions.
  • We don't transfer your data to third parties, except to the service providers named above for support email and website hosting, or where the law requires it.
  • We don't use your data for anything unrelated to PDF Desk's single purpose.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

PDF Desk's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. PDF Desk uses no Google user-data APIs; it uses extension storage only.

Permissions

  • storage: keeps the saved signatures described in section 2, on your device. This is PDF Desk's only permission.

Your rights

Australian users have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where it applies. Users elsewhere may have rights under local law, such as the GDPR. To access, correct or delete the support emails we hold, email support@gabbaworks.com. You can delete on-device data at any time in PDF Desk (Saved data → Clear all saved data) or by uninstalling. Email privacy complaints to the same address. We aim to respond within 30 days. Where the Privacy Act applies, you can then complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Overseas recipients

Our service providers store or process data outside Australia: Cloudflare (website hosting and email forwarding; global network, United States company) and Google (Gmail support inbox; United States and other countries where Google operates data centres). The extension itself sends nothing to anyone.

Children

PDF Desk isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

When this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. If a future version of PDF Desk adds any feature that sends data off your device, we'll update this policy before that version is released, and the extension will tell you before it sends anything.
